EchoPark Speedway has named Eric Platte as the Vice President of Sales for the world-class Speedway Motorsports facility located just south of Atlanta. Platte will lead the corporate partnership staff at the Speedway and is charged with driving revenue and partnership growth surrounding two annual NASCAR Cup Series race weekends and hundreds of corporate and special events.

Platte comes to the Speedway after 16 years with the Atlanta Hawks, most recently serving as the Vice President of Global Partnerships driving growth and innovation for the Atlanta Hawks, State Farm Arena, and the College Park Skyhawks. Platte was also part of the team tasked with monetizing Centennial Yards, a 50-acre real estate development in downtown Atlanta.

“Eric has a stellar reputation in the business community working with world class events,” said Speedway Motorsports Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer Kevin Camper. “With a keen eye on the future, and thinking outside the box, his business acumen embodies the principles and values of Speedway Motorsports that will make him successful at EchoPark Speedway.”

With the Hawks, Platte held multiple roles across both ticketing and partnership teams, most recently in Global Partnerships where he developed strategic, results-driven solutions maximizing value for brands in all market conditions. Highly regarded in the industry, he was recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of their top 40 under 40 business executives in 2024.

Platte will lead the Speedway’s partnership and premium hospitality efforts to further expand the tremendous growth seen over the past five years since the track was reprofiled in 2021.  The project included a repave that increased the banking from 24° to 28°, bringing an intense style of racing that has resonated with fans and corporate partners alike.  In 2025, EchoPark Automotive announced a groundbreaking multi-year naming rights agreement with the legendary facility. In addition, Platte will oversee the portfolio of hundreds of track rental events including the Georgia State Fair, Feld’s Monster Jam, and Atlanta Truck Invasion.

“Eric brings a wealth of knowledge about the greater Atlanta market to the Speedway,” said Brandon Hutchison, Executive Vice President and General Manager of EchoPark Speedway. “His strong community relationships and unwavering commitment to customer service will help drive meaningful growth across the EchoPark Speedway business portfolio for years to come.”

A graduate of Michigan State University, Platte is a native of Saginaw, Michigan and currently resides in Decatur, Georgia with his wife and two children. Eric serves on the Board of Directors for Café Momentum Atlanta, a nonprofit restaurant hiring and supporting teenagers exiting the juvenile justice system.

“I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to join EchoPark Speedway and help shape the next chapter of growth and fan engagement,” said Platte. “Motorsports creates a unique connection between brands and communities, and I’m excited to build impactful partnership that move the business forward.”
