Defending Quaker State 400 Available at Walmart winner and reigning NASCAR Cup Series Champion Joey Logano claimed the pole for Saturday night’s race at EchoPark Speedway during qualifying Friday.
Logano, piloting the No. 22 Ford for Team Penske, clocked a lap time of 30.979 with an average speed of 178.96 mph to secure his 31st career pole and first of the 2025 season.
"Being up front and in control in this race is the name of the game. If you can get up there and solidify the top positions, I feel like you can stay there,” said Logano. “The thing is, there’s a lot of ‘what-ifs’ that play out in this race. A lot of cautions that may be timed in a way that can jumble up the field. It’s hard to say you’re gonna be leading every lap in this thing. I think it’s a hard thing to try to accomplish.”
Logano edged out Josh Berry, who posted an identical time and speed but was placed second on the starting grid after the tie was broken by owner points. The front two rows will feature both drivers in Fords, with Team Penske teammates Ryan Blaney and Austin Cindric lining up third and fourth.
