Round eight of Thursday Thunder brought pure dominance and tight battles across eight racing divisions on the EchoPark Speedway Thunder Ring.
The most hotly contested feature of the night came in The Associates Group Insurance Pro division. Nick Woodall, of Canton, Ga., started on the outside of the front row and quickly took the lead from polesitter Kyle Bacon (Buchanan, Ga.) with a rare outside pass in Turns 1 and 2.
Bacon stayed glued to be the back bumper of Woodall for the first half of the feature until Jensen Jorgensen (Stockbridge, Ga.), caught the lead duo. Jorgensen worked his way to the inside and around Bacon to claim second, setting his eyes on Woodall with just a handful of laps remaining.
Jorgensen put the pressure on Woodall’s No. 72 hoping for a chance to pass, but Woodall drove a nearly flawless final few laps, denying Jorgensen the opportunity to pass and capturing his second victory of the season.
“That’s the hardest I’ve had to focus and turn laps in a while” Woodall said of the winning drive. “It was definitely the most I’ve ever had to focus to keep four wheels under me.”
Jeff Bolen of Leesville, S.C. started on the pole of the Circle C Auto Sales Masters division feature and scored his third victory of the 2026 Thursday Thunder season. Bolen battled Phillip Young (Dallas, Ga.) through a late race restart to lead flag to flag and remain the only multiple time winner in the Masters division this year.
It was déjà vu for Mitch Wright of Courtice, Ont. in the WJP Investments Semi-Pro division, capturing back-to-back wins on Wednesday and Thursday night. Just like in round seven, Wright took the lead early in the race from Bryce Sanders of Ola, Ga. and never looked back.
Daylen Pennington (Radiator Springs, Ariz.) started on the pole and took home the checkered flag in the Incentive Risk Management Bandits division feature, becoming the fourth unique winner in the Bandits division.
In the Bennett Transportation & Logistics Young Lions division feature, it once again was a heated battle between Turner Brown (Sacramento, Calif.) and Colt Johnson (Houston, Texas) for the win. Brown prevailed, winning his fourth race of the year and adding to his already impressive 2026 campaign.
In the Incentive Risk Management Outlaw division feature, it was the Carson Sherman (Loganville, Ga.) show as he led every lap and took home his seventh win in eight races.
Bryce Castille came home with the win in the WJP Investment Chargers division and Grayson Pressley (Woodstock, Ga.) became the eighth winner in as many races in the Incentive Risk Management Rookie Bandolero division.
Thursday Thunder racing continues in two weeks with Round 9 on Thursday night, July 9th.
