After a postponement for weather last Thursday, this Thursday showcased double feature Thursday Thunder action at EchoPark Speedway. Double the racing provided twice the drama between Sam Butler (Taylorsville, N.C.) and Cole Denton (Pascagoula, Miss.), swapping wins in Rounds Three and Four of the 2025 season.

Sam Butler opened the night strong in the WJP Investments Semi-Pro Division, holding off a late push from Cole Denton to earn his second win of the year. A late restart with three to go demanded that Butler defend his position on the inside. He did just that, holding off the late push and driving into victory lane.

Getting out of the car, Butler spoke to the comrade within his race team.

“Sometimes it's nice to have a little fun here and there,” Butler said, “we joke around, and I think that’s really what keeps me calm throughout these races,”.

Relieved to earn redemption from his Cook Out Summer Shootout Feature at Charlotte Motor Speedway earlier in the week, Butler turned his focus to feature race number two.

However, Cole Denton came back ready in the second feature. The Mississippi driver powered his way to the front of the field, taking over the lead around the halfway point. From there, he led to the checkered flag, matching Butler’s two wins on the season.

In the Associates Group Pro Division, Jensen Jorgensen (Stockbridge, Ga.) remained perfect, winning both features to bring his streak to four in a row.

Across the other divisions, Dylan Bongiovanni (Cumming, Ga.) swept both Adrenalin Powersports Young Lions features for his second and third straight wins. Similarly, James Behnke (Canton, Ga.) remained unstoppable in the Incentive Risk Management Bandits Division. He led nearly every lap across both features, bringing home his third and fourth consecutive wins.

Incentive Risk Management Outlaws action saw Jackson Jones (Concord, N.C.) make a late-race move to grab the win in Feature 1, while Carson Sherman (Loganville, Ga.) jumped out early in Feature 2 and took his second win of the year.

Cameron Stearns (Sharpsburg, Ga.) led flag-to-flag to earn his first career win in the WJP Investments Chargers Thursday Thunder feature and Veteran Bill Plemons Jr. (Locust Grove, Ga.) won both Circle C Auto Sales Masters features, bringing his season total to three.

The Incentive Risk Management Rookie Bandolero feature saw Wyatt Grizzard (McDonough, Ga.) take the lead on an early restart and hold on for the win.

Racing continues next week at EchoPark Speedway as Thursday Thunder heats up for Round 5.
