Fans who attend a NASCAR weekend at EchoPark Speedway know they can expect two things: thrilling high-speed action on the track and great entertainment off the track.
The speedway’s staff is always looking for new and exciting attractions to add to a race weekend and one addition in particular was turning heads in 2025. The unexpected and delightful sight was the Sea Lion Splash, which brought live sea lions to the EchoPark Speedway Fan Zone.
Making its debut during the spring race weekend, the Sea Lion Splash was undoubtedly one of the most captivating attractions in the Fan Zone. The entertaining and informative presentation showcased the special bond between the “adopted family” of rescued sea lions and their handlers, while also highlighting the animals’ natural behaviors. The sea lions awed fans by performing tricks and even posing for photos with guests, attracting large crowds throughout the weekend.
The sea lions were the buzz of Fan Zone – even some NASCAR stars made their way to the show with their kids. With all the fanfare around the family-friendly, fun for all ages show, it was no surprise the sea lions returned for the summer weekend as well. Better yet, the Sea Lion Splash will once again return to the EchoPark Speedway Fan Zone in February 2026 for the Autotrader 400 weekend.
